Jabba’s return to form means he qualified well for another TV event, the Player Championship Finals.  Jamie’s fine floor form saw he finish 7th in the floor order of merit, winning £55,100.

The £250,000 event, televised live on ITV4, will be held across three days at the Somerset complex, with 4,000 fans packing the Butlins Minehead Resort for an action-packed weekend of darts.

The Cash Converters Players Championship Finals, featuring the top 32 players from the 2013 PDC ProTour Order of Merit. As well as being shown in the UK on ITV4, you can find it on RTL7 in the Netherlands, Sport1 in Germany, Fox Sports Australia, OSN across the Middle East and on www.LIVEPDC.TV for International Pass Subscribers.

Cash Converters Players Championship Finals
Friday November 29 –
Afternoon Session (12.45pm)

Round 1:  Jamie Caven 6-3 Colin Lloyd

1-0 – Caven hits a 180 and finishes 64 to take the game’s opening leg.
1-1 – Lloyd replies on double 15.
2-1 – Caven lands tops to move back in front.
2-2 – Lloyd holds throw to level the contest.
2-3 – Lloyd opens with a 180 but misses the bull for a 110 finish, only for Caven to miss two darts at tops and allow him back in on double five to break for the first time.
3-3 – Caven hits a 180 and levels on tops.
4-3 – Caven lands a fourth maximum of the contest, and finishes double five to move back ahead.
5-3 – Caven finishes 63 to move a leg away from the win with a break of throw.
6-3 – Double ten sees the Derby ace seal victory.

Round 1:  Jamie Caven 4-9 Justin Pipe

Unfortunately while the scoring was fine, the doubles wouldn’t come today, with the main difference between the two the 20% vs 30% finishing rate.  On another day the result would have been completely different… Heads up and on to the worlds in two weeks now!

Don’t forget Jabba fans, you can buy exclusive fan merchandise in our very own shop.
